Karl Scotland – Using Agility Strategically
My name is Karl Scotland and I help businesses become Learning Organisations, through outcome-oriented, continuous transformations, with everyone, everywhere.
Over the last 20+ years I have been an advocate of Lean and Agile approaches to achieve this, working with companies including the BBC, Yahoo!, EMC Consulting, Rally Software, Cisco, Legal & General, HSBC and Sky.
During this time, I have been an early adopter of XP and Scrum, a key contributor to Agendashift, and a pioneer in using Kanban Systems and Strategy Deployment for product development. I am a founding member of both the Lean Systems Society and Limited WIP Society, as well as being active in the community and a regular conference speaker. As a result, I was awarded the honorary Brickell Key Community Contribution Award at the 2013 Lean Kanban North America conference.
Strategy Safari describes 10 strategy schools and raises a number of related issues. Strategy Deployment can be considered regarding those schools and issues.
The phrase “outcome-oriented, continuous transformation, everywhere” describes my approach to Agile Transformation. This post explains what I mean by that.
The Order of the X-Matrix is how I populate one in practice. It is different to the order I use to describe it. This different order brings several benefits.
