Karl Scotland has been an advocate of Lean and Agile approaches for over twenty years. He attended one of the first Agile conferences, XP Universe 2001, and was among the first UK Certified Scrum Masters in 2003. In 2007, he was a pioneer in using Kanban Systems, helped establish the early Kanban community, and was a founder member of the Lean Systems Society and the Limited WIP Society. In addition, he has been a key contributor to Agendashift as an Authorised Trainer and Facilitator. Karl is currently focused on applying Strategy Deployment to organisational transformations, developing his own X-Matrix format and TASTE framework.
Karl is a regular speaker at Lean and Agile conferences and has given keynotes globally. He is also a founder of the Brighton Lean Agile Group and is on the organising team of the Lean Agile Brighton conference, where he puts together the program of speakers. He was awarded the honorary Brickell Key Community Contribution Award at the 2013 Lean Kanban North America conference.
