Kanban Thinking

If you were looking for my old Kanban resources page, the most up to date and comprehensive collection of content on Kanban for Software Development can be found at the Limited WIP Society Resources page.

The Model

It began with KFC Development in 2008 and has evolved into what I have come to call Kanban Thinking. I wrote an InfoQ article which describes the model, and the current version looks like this:

Kanban Thinking

Its made up of the following elements:

The Book

I am currently writing a book on Kanban as part of Addison Wesley’s Mike Cohn Signature Series. This is where I will make the latest chapters available. It is still early days, and much of current content is an aggregation of posts found elsewhere on this blog, with little or no further editing. Using Gerald Weinberg’s Fieldstone Method metaphor, the rocks are being piled up together, but have not been shaped yet. I hope, however, that it is enough to begin to give some idea of the flow of the book, and maybe even start gathering some feedback.

  1. hello Karl, I am writing to see if your book is already published, also I want to ask if you have info about scrumban (as i understand next step in kanban). I am using tools to implement those processes like http://www.eylean.com

    • Hi Tim
I’m afraid the book is a long way from being published 🙁
I would recommend Corey Ladas’ Scrumban book. I would describe is more as a way to apply Kanban Thinking to Scrum.
